This is a notebook within a series on Grieder's notes from class and diagrams from textbooks. The notebook begins with a note from a colleague and classmate of hers, Stephen, for Grieder to look at the new graph in the yeast book. The graph is on the next page and it showed both cumulative hours and cumulative cell growth. It also contained a letter to Stillman from Grieder. Grieder drew a diagram of an E. coli strain carrying a plasmid as well as a detailed restriction enzyme map of the combined strain and fragment. Grieder came up with a new plan for Yeast Linear Plasmid construction. Grieder added an Autonomous Replicating Sequence to the Plasmid which would allow one to transform the yeast containing the linear plasmid. Also contained an article entitled: ”A Mutant with a Defect in Telomere Elongation Leads to Senescence in Yeast” which was written and published by Greider. The article described a general assay designed to detect mutants in yeast that are defective for any telomere function.
